As Jesus is talking to his disciples before he ascends into heaven, he gives them this directive:
“You will receive power when
the Holy Spirit has come upon you,
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem
and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the end of the earth.”
We continue to be Jesus witnesses to the people we encounter in our daily lives and throughout the world. Here are some of the ways that the St. Michael family are witnesses in our own neighborhood and throughout the world. Our Neighborhood
Jerusalem
We consider ourselves missionaries in our neighborhood - building relationships and meeting felt needs in order to connect people to Jesus. We have several opportunities to engage our neighbors on a regular basis.
Free Giveaways: As we hear about needs, such as fresh produce and diapers, we gather what is needed, hang out on the church lawn, and pass out free items. Praying with people who are seeking prayer.
Community Outreach Office: For times when more one on one connections are needed to resources those around us we have a dedicated group of volunteers who resources clients with a variety of connections throughout the Fort Wayne community.
Life Skill Classes: Approximately once a quarter our community outreach office puts on a class for our neighborhood to improve a lifeskill. Classes have been taught on financial literacy, budgeting, meal planning, and much more.

As we look at the world around us in our community, nation, and world, we see churches and organizations that are connecting people to Jesus in their neighborhoods.
